Under floor heating is beginning to be very popular among these days. In the search of comfort of a warm place to rest, this becomes a very attractive option.
People tend to argue that water based heating is actually the cheapest of all the options. People that want to refuse this argument, will state that this is only the case if the heating system was to be left on 24 hours a day. Some people don’t like the fact that water systems can be a little bit noisy.
One advantage that both system have is that they will let you heat up specific rooms if you wish to. All you need to do is to move some handles that will stop water from running in some areas so the heat is only concentrated in the parts where you wish to have it. This will of course help you to reduce cost too when compared to a heating system that will increase the temperature in the whole house at the same time.
One difference is that in the case of under floor heating the temperature increases from the floor to the ceiling while in the traditional system is the other way around. Your radiators and other appliances start heating the environment first from the ceiling to the floor. It doesn’t really make much of a difference.
What people don’t like about Under floor heating is that the installation can be quite problematic. You need to remove the entire floor and move your stuff as if you were moving to another house. The system needs you to install a protective lawyer too which mean that your floor will be higher and therefore you would need to adjust doors and windows. This can be quite expensive and not necessarily easy and simple to do. People just give up when they realize all the fuzz that have to go through. And the problem appears again if something goes wrong and the system need to be repaired.
Other aspect that people don’t like is that under floor heating can take a long time to warm up. So if you come cold from a rainy day of work you cannot expect to be warm just by getting into your house. In the same way the heat takes longer to disappear and this can be also considered and advantage. You can actually switch off your system and still enjoy the temperature for quite a long time.
Regardless what you decide to do you have to keep in mind that before you make a decision on what system you are going to use , you need to be informed about the good and bad sides to all of the alternatives.
